Jessica Giannetto, DVM, DACVS-SA, Surgery
Dr. Giannetto was born and raised in Connecticut and attended college at Boston University. She attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis/St. Paul for veterinary school and graduated in 2013. She then completed her rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. She completed her surgery internship and residency in Richmond, Virginia, and stayed in Richmond as an attending surgeon after her residency.
Dr. Giannetto enjoys all aspects of soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. She has experience in laparoscopy and arthroscopy and has a particular interest in wound care, thoracic surgery, fracture repair, and emergency abdominal procedures. Dr. Giannetto’s research investigated the use of post-operative wound dressings in preventing surgical site infections after TPLOs and she continues to have an interest in the use of antimicrobial therapy in veterinary surgery. Dr. Giannetto has a passion for teaching veterinary students, interns and residents and has adopted the role of surgery intern and residency director at PVESC.
Dr. Giannetto and her husband Kyle met in Minnesota in 2011 and got married in 2017. They have 2 kids: 1 son and 1 bullmastiff. They enjoy traveling to Caribbean islands for vacation, going to the movies, and visiting wineries and breweries. Dr. Giannetto is happy to be back in New England closer to family and is looking forward to spending time at the beach and eating seafood again!
